One of Yorkshire and the Humber’s leading independent accountancy firms is celebrating after their successful sponsorship of the Heavy Horse Section, and the Heavy Horse Stabling and Demonstration Area, at the Driffield Show 2017.
Smailes Goldie Group is a long time sponsor of the popular equine event, having supported it in previous years and were blown away by the response they attracted at the Driffield Showground on 19 July 2017.
The Group, which includes agri-business specialist accountants Smailes Goldie Turner, met with many rural clients, local businesses and professional contacts at their stand, where they socialised, provided refreshments and even a little business was discussed. Rebecca Smith, a Manager at Smailes Goldie Turner, took centre stage at the Heavy Horse Supreme Champion competition handing out prizes to this year’s entrants.
During the show, the firm also invited local children to take part in their colouring competition, which saw lots of youngsters completing fantastic works of art.
Martin Overfield, a Partner and Head of Agri-business at Smailes Goldie Group, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to the organisers of this year’s show for inviting us along once again.
“This popular event continues to draw large crowds on an annual basis and I am glad that our team could be there to meet and greet the shows many guests.
“It was particularly pleasing to be able to welcome long standing Smailes Goldie client Chris Richardson on to our stand in his capacity as Show President for 2017 after his 40 years of service as a show judge and organiser.”
