A leading accountancy and business services firm has held a golf day, raising approximately £2,500 for charity in the process.
Smailes Goldie Group, which has offices in Hull and Barton, and the 19 teams that competed in the firm’s inaugural golf day at Burstwick Country Golf on 8 October 2016 raised the funds to support the Hull branch of the Samaritans.
Smailes Goldie Group Partner, Mark Sharpley, said: “We are grateful to everyone who attended and to Burstwick Country Golf for providing the course. It is wonderful to have been able to raise so much money for a very deserving cause in the Hull branch of the Samaritans.
“Here at Smailes Goldie Group, we are committed to making a difference to our local community and the success of our inaugural golf day means that we are encouraged to make this an annual event, so watch this space for announcements regarding our 2017 City of Culture golf day.”
The eventual winners of the day were MRC Estate and Letting Agents, a business who like ourselves actively support local charity projects.
